[Gossip] Ivanka Trump's Stalker Pleads Guilty
Posted by Joseph Lee on 02.10.2012

Justin Massler, a celebrity stalker, has pleaded guilty to aggravated harassment and criminal contempt charges for targeting Ivanka Trump.

Massler was sentenced to six months in jail that he already served, as well as five years of probation. During his probation he must continue to get psychiatric treatment and medication.

The Manhattan District Attorney's office said he released emails and tweets about his obsession with Trump. He said his "dream in life" was to marry her. He threatened to commit suicide in her Manhattan jewelry store and said he wanted to "talk some sense into" her husband, Jared Kushner, and "commandeer" the newspaper that Kushner publishes, The New York Observer.

He had said he would die before being caught and "would go down in a hail of gunfire." Even after his arrest and restraining order, he still tried to contact Trump and her family.

Massler had his name legally changed to Cloud Starchaster and said his address was "a volcano in Hawaii". He's schizophrenic and has a history of psychiatric hospitalizations, according to his lawyer, George Vomvolakis. He was declared unfit to stand trial until three weeks ago, when doctors decided medication helped his mental state enough that he could show up to court.

Vomvolakis said: "When he's on his medication, he's fine. He's lucid, he's reasonable."
